How long will it take for my books to arrive?

Delivery times depend on your location. Orders within Australia typically arrive within 2–3 business days. International orders may take longer. Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way with tracking information.

Every book on our website will show you an expected number of shipping days. That includes the time for us to pack your order in our Sydney warehouse and have it shipped, indicating the day you can expect to receive your books.

Our deliveries are sent using a business parcel service from Australia Post.

  • NSW Country Areas – 3 business days
  • Metro: Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra – 2–3 business days
  • Metro: Adelaide, Hobart – 3 business days
  • VIC/SA/QLD Country Areas – 3–5 business days
  • Metro: Perth, Darwin – 4–5 business days

All books are sent with tracked services, and you’ll receive the tracking details so you can check progress online.

I need it faster – do you offer Express Shipping?

Yes. Express Shipping is available on most orders for an additional charge. This usually delivers your books the next business day in Australian state capital cities.

Can I cancel my order?

We try to ship orders as quickly as possible. This makes it hard to cancel or change an order that has already been picked or packed at the warehouse. If you email us a cancellation request, we’ll try to cancel and refund you if the book hasn’t yet shipped.

If there’s already a tracking number, it means we’ve paid for shipping and started that process, so we won’t be able to cancel your order.

What types of books do you sell?

We offer a carefully curated collection of books across all genres—fiction, non-fiction, self-help, children’s books, academic texts, and more. Whether you’re a casual reader or a serious bibliophile, we’ve got something for you. Our customers love that we focus on hard-to-find and rare books, and we love Folio Society books!

How can I place an order?

Ordering is simple! Browse our collection, add your favourite books to the cart, and proceed to checkout. You can create an account or check out as a guest—it’s up to you.

Can I track my order?

Absolutely! Once your order is shipped, we’ll email you a tracking number so you can follow your books’ journey to your doorstep.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns for damaged or incorrect items according to our returns policy. Please contact us at support@pearlpress.com.au with your order details, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Do you sell eBooks or audiobooks?

Not yet—but stay tuned! We’re working on expanding our offerings to include eBooks and audiobooks in the near future.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, of course we do! We have customers all over the world. Shipping costs and delivery times vary based on your location, and all fees will be calculated at checkout. Customers are responsible for any customs or import duties.

Do you offer gift wrapping or personalised notes?

Yes! Select the gift wrap option at checkout, and you can include a personalised note to make your gift extra special. This may delay shipping by a day.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards and PayPal. Your payment information is securely processed to ensure a safe shopping experience.

How can I find a specific book on your website?

Use the search bar at the top of the page to look for a book by title, author, ISBN, or keyword. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, email support@pearlpress.com.au and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you stock signed copies or limited editions?

Occasionally, we offer signed copies and limited editions of select books. These are usually marked on the product page. Check back often or subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated on special offerings.

Can I buy a gift card?

Yes! We offer digital gift cards in various denominations, perfect for the book lovers in your life. They never expire and can be used on any product in our store.

What should I do if a book I received is damaged?

We’re so sorry for the inconvenience! Please email us at support@pearlpress.com.au with photos of the damage and your order number, and we’ll send a replacement or issue a refund promptly.

Do you buy used books?

Yes, we do buy and pick up books in Sydney, Australia—usually in bulk. Email us; we’re always happy to talk about picking up quantities of pre-owned books. Not only is it sustainable, it helps those downsizing or managing a deceased estate.

How can I stay updated on new arrivals and special promotions?

Sign up for our newsletter! We regularly share updates on new arrivals, exclusive deals, and recommendations—and we promise not to spam you endlessly.

How do I know if a book is in stock?

We only display books that we actually have in stock now.

What’s the difference between hardcover, paperback, and trade paperback?

Hardcover: A book with a durable, rigid cover, often with a dust jacket. It’s typically more expensive and longer-lasting.
Paperback: A book with a flexible, soft cover, making it lighter and more portable.
Trade Paperback: A larger, higher-quality paperback, often with the same content as the hardcover edition.

Can I request a personalised recommendation or book search?

Are your books new or used?

We sell brand-new, pre-owned, rare, vintage, and antiquarian books. Always check our product descriptions carefully. For pre-owned books, the photos are of the exact copy you’ll receive; for brand new books, we may use images from the publisher.

Do you use environmentally friendly packaging?

We strive to use recyclable and eco-friendly packaging materials whenever we can. If a bag or box from us looks recycled—it is! Pre-owned books are always a great way to advance sustainability.

Do you price match with other retailers?

We always offer competitive prices, but we don’t currently offer price matching. However, we regularly run promotions to ensure you get great value.
